Golden 1 Center Parking

It is possible to get to Golden 1 Center by a variety of modes of transport, including: walking, bicycling, public transport (bus and light rail) and driving. Other modes of transport accessible to guests are: taxis, rideshare companies (i.e. Uber or Lyft), Paratransit, charter buses or limousines.

It is recommended that guests purchases pre-paid parking passes online for both Golden 1 Center events through the City of Sacramento. To access the arena from the parking structure, there are pedestrian walkways to Golden 1 Center are available via 5th & J Street, 7th & K Street, and 5th & L Street. It is recommended that guests arrive in plenty of time for the event to avoid congestion or delays, and parking garages associated with Golden 1 Center are scheduled to open two hours prior to the start of the event.

It is advised that parking spaces are first-come, first-served, and will not be assigned. Guests may be able to pre-purchase for specific parking garages, but this is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.

One of the most common questions visitors ask is “Where do I park?” The good news is that Golden 1 Center’s downtown location offers numerous parking facilities, along with excellent public transportation options that can save you money and hassle.

Official Parking Options

Golden 1 Center does not operate on-site parking facilities. Instead, the venue partners with the City of Sacramento to provide parking access in nearby garages and lots. The recommended approach is to purchase parking passes online through the SacPark website before arriving at the arena.

City-operated garages associated with Golden 1 Center events include:

• Downtown Plaza Garage: Located adjacent to the arena, this garage offers convenient access via pedestrian walkways.  

• DOCO West Garage: Part of the Downtown Commons development at 325 L Street, this garage provides premium parking with exclusive venue access for suite and premium seat holders.

• DOCO East Garage: This Downtown Commons facility offers convenient arena access.

• Capitol Garage: Located near the State Capitol building at 10th and L Streets, this garage is within walking distance of Golden 1 Center.

• Wells Fargo Center Garage: Situated downtown, this garage offers reasonable rates and a short walk to the venue.

• 770 L Street Garage: This option features valet parking services for guests seeking premium convenience.

Street Parking

Limited street parking is available in downtown Sacramento, though spaces fill up quickly on event days. Meter parking requires payment through the SacPark app or physical meters. Be sure to check parking regulations on time limits and restricted zones.  

Alternative Parking Strategies

Finding convenient parking near Golden 1 Center can be challenging during popular events. These alternative parking strategies help visitors save time and reduce stress:

• Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) Park and Ride: Multiple light rail stations offer free parking lots where guests can park and ride the train to Golden 1 Center. Notable Park and Ride facilities include Roseville Road Station, Iron Point Station, Florin Station, and Sunrise Station. 

• Private Lots and Garages: Several private operators offer event parking near the arena. Prices vary but can be competitive with city rates, especially when booked in advance through apps like SpotHero, ParkWhiz, or ParkMobile.  

• Hotel Parking: Guests staying at downtown hotels should inquire about overnight parking rates and policies. Some hotels offer free or discounted parking for guests, potentially eliminating the hassle of finding a parking spot.

Public Transportation

Sacramento Regional Transit provides excellent access to Golden 1 Center via light rail and bus services:

Light Rail

The Gold Line stops at the 8th & K Street station, placing riders directly adjacent to Golden 1 Center. Additional nearby stations include Archives Plaza at 7th & K Street. 

Bus Service

Several SacRT bus lines travel through downtown Sacramento and stop close to the arena, including Routes 30, 38, and 62. For the most accurate stop locations and current schedules, visit the SacRT official website.

The combination of light rail and parking at suburban Park-and-Ride lots offers the best value for budget-conscious visitors.  

Rideshare and Taxis

Uber and Lyft operate extensively in Sacramento. Designated rideshare pick-up zones are located near the arena, though post-event congestion can make connections challenging. Riders should walk a block or two away from the venue to easier pick-up locations rather than requesting rides directly outside arena exits.

Traditional taxi services remain available, though they’re less common than rideshare options in Sacramento.

Bicycle Transportation

A complimentary bike valet service operates at the plaza near Golden 1 Center for event attendees, and multiple bike racks are available downtown. Getting around on foot is also convenient thanks to the arena’s central downtown location and pedestrian-friendly streets. Shared electric scooters offer another option for short trips around the neighborhood.
